FABRIC LAYUP MOLDS
Although fabric layup molds are usually compression tools, they tend to incorporate wedging or collapsible geometry in order to achieve the necessary compression against the fabric and to simplify the production process. Given the parameters of the job, DMT’s design team will optimize the wedging and collapsing details to reduce the complexity of overly complicated fabric wrapped rubber seals/products.

LIM/LSR – LIQUID INJECTION MOLDING TOOLS (LIM) OR LIQUID SILICONE RUBBER MOLDING TOOLS (LSR)
Advantages:
- Usually automated
- Shorter cure times
- Faster labor times for over-molding or complex geometries
- Excellent repeatability / tolerance / precision
Disadvantages:
- Runner waste when not using cold runner systems or other options
- Higher initial costs, but well suited for high volume
RUBBER AND PLASTIC INJECTION MOLDS
Advantages:
- Can be automated
- Suited for high volume
- Faster labor times for over-molding or complex geometries
- Repeatability and precision
Disadvantages:
- Runner waste when not using cold runner systems or other options
- Higher initial costs, but well suited for high volume
